Sarah Romanko is on the investment team at Geek Ventures, where she focuses on deal sourcing, startup screening, and in-depth analyses of prospective investments. She previously worked at several early-stage VC firms, developing expertise in relationship-building, sourcing and evaluating startups, and performing due diligence. Her experience also includes roles at Bulletpitch and WingDriver (Techstars ’23), giving her a well-rounded perspective across both venture and startup operations.
Sarah is quite active in the startup and VC space. She’s built her own personal brand on LinkedIn (nearly 20k followers), has had 60+ speaking engagements (Columbia Business School, Texas Venture Gala and Forum, Goodie Nation, Founder Institute, Startup Grind, University of California at Berkeley) on pitching, funding and investing, selecting a viable startup to invest in, and obtaining experience in VC, and has had 25+ judging/mentorship sessions (gener8tor, Startup Grind, SaaStock USA, Founded in Texas). She also served as the Chief of Staff for the 2024 and 2025 Texas Venture Gala and Forum, the Chief of Staff for the 2024 and 2025 Texas Venture Fest, and a SXSW 2024, 2025, and 2026 Conference PanelPicker Evaluator. In her free time, at no charge, she gives female and diverse founders pitch deck advice, fundraising advice, and ideas on how to improve their businesses, and advise individuals of all experience levels (students to experienced professionals) on how to break into VC.
